Schedule, 2004

- Florida Dive Trip Announced

As the local dive season winds down it's time to think about dive travel opportunities. This fall instructors Doug Berry and Bob Decker will host a trip to the North Central region of Florida to dive a variety of clear, freshwater springs. The trip will depart Morehead City Thursday Evening, October 28 at 6:00 PM. We will arrive at Luraville, Florida the next morning, ready to dive. Dives will be made all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with the opportunity for one last morning dive Monday before we start the trip home. Dive sites will include: Troy Springs, Ginnie Springs and sites located in Peacock Springs State Park. Other sites may be visited dependent upon time and the interests of those participating in the trip.

The $250 trip fee includes: Three nights lodging, all Air or Enriched Air Nitrox fills and all site entrance fees. Transportation will be available via a carpool arrangement (riders share gas costs equally). Meals can be provided using cooking facilities at the dive lodge on a cost share basis, or by visiting local restaurants, as decided by the majority of participants. PADI Cavern Diver ($200), NAUI Enriched Air Diver ($225) and NAUI Advanced Scuba Diver ($175) courses will be offered in conjunction with this trip. (PADI UW Photographer , PADI Discover Enriched Air Nitrox, or various PADI Adventure Dives may be available dependent upon request and site suitability.)

Notes: Divers not certified as Cavern or Cave divers, or not enrolled in a Cavern Diver course, will not be permitted to take lights into the water at most locations. Entering an underwater cavern or cave without proper training is extremely dangerous. Exceptions include the main spring at Ginnie Springs Resort and Troy Springs. Even without lights there will still be plenty for open water divers to see on this trip.
